At Kidz Depot we strongly encourage socialization, imagination, creativity, and open play. 

Children are encouraged to participate in scheduled activities but it is not required.

Per the FSSA Kidz Depot has to be closed every other Friday.

HEALTHY CHILDREN

It is our policy at Kidz Depot not to accept sick children. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Please do not bring your child to Kidz Depot if they have had a fever or vomited in the past 24 hours. Please keep your child home if he/she suffers from a sore throat, rash, cough, diarrhea, or pink eye. If a child becomes ill during the course of their stay, the child will be separated from the other children (he/she will remain within eyesight and hearing of our staff) and the parent will be contacted immediately. Parents will be expected to pick-up their sick child in a timely manner.

Kidz Depot staff members have First Aid training and will attend to minor cuts and bruises if applicable. In the event of an emergency, your child will be transported to the closest medical facility for treatment at the parent’s expense, as noted on the  registration/release form.

 

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT

Upon your first stay with Kidz Depot, you will be required to complete a parent information and child registration form.  This can be filled out online on the REGISTRATION Page or on your first visit.  This information is vital to the staff and to your child’s welfare.  When you come to pick up your child, you will be asked to present a picture ID.  You will receive a statement for services rendered. Fees are due and payable at check out.  For your convenience, Kidz Depot accepts cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and AMEX. There is a $30.00 returned check fee.Kidz Depot charges a late pick-up fee of $1.00 per minute for every minute past our closing time. Should a child be left in our care for more than an hour past closing time and we are unable to reach any of the emergency contacts, the local police will be notified.  Anyone suspected of being intoxicated while picking up a child must provide another driver prior to release of the child.  If another driver cannot be provided, we will contact someone from the child’s authorized contact list.  If we are unable to contact another authorized person, the child must be allowed to leave with the parent; however, the local police will be notified.

 

SNACKS AND MEALS

Snacks are provided free of charge.  If your child is with us during a meal, parents are asked to pack a lunch/dinner or opt for a la carte meal options that can be purchased.  Charges for food items will be paid for upon checkout.  Any food allergies your child might have should be noted on your registrations form and in your Kidz Depot profile.

 

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Safety and security are of the utmost importance to everyone at Kidz Depot.  Our facility and policies are designed with this in mind.  Kidz Depot staff members are certified in Infant and Child first aid and CPR and trained in Universal Precautions.  Each employee has had a complete background check prior to hiring, including criminal and employment screening. A photo ID is required to pick-up a child.  Children will only be released to persons designated on your registration forms or in your Kidz Depot profile.  Complete emergency procedures are on file at every location.

 

PERSONAL ITEMS

Kidz Depot will provide your child with numerous items to play with so we ask that your child NOT bring personal toys with them. Kidz Depot will not be responsible for personal items including but not limited to clothing, shoes and toys.  Any items left at the facility will be kept in a lost and found box for 30 days. After that time, items will be donated to charity.

 

SPECIAL NEEDS


Please make Kidz Depot staff members aware of any special needs your child might have. Kidz Depot does not discriminate against any person based upon personal ability, however your child should be able to play independently within our staff ratio.

 

MEDICATIONS

We cannot administer medications (including over the counter) to your child.  Please let the caregiver know when your child is on medication so we may keep accurate information on file.

 

INCIDENT REPORTS

We take every precaution to ensure the safety of all children in our care; however, when children play accidents may happen.  In case of an accident or injury Kidz Depot is equipped with a first aid kit and our staff has CPR and First-Aid training.  For all minor accidents you will receive an “incident report” showing what occurred and what action was taken.  In case of an emergency, we will call 911 first for medical assistance.  You will be contacted immediately after.

 

GOOD BEHAVIOR

At Kidz Depot, we know that children respond favorably to positive reinforcement. We will encourage children to make good choices but we also know that there will be times when verbal guidance and re-direction will be necessary. There may be times when a child would be asked to take a short time-out from their activities. Kidz Depot reserves the right to refuse care to children who have been exceptionally aggressive until such time when there has been a significant change in their behavior

 

DIAPERS AND POTTY TRAINING

We will be glad to help with the process of potty training! We need your help though… please bring all necessary supplies such as diapers, pull-ups, diaper wipes and an additional change of clothes. Our staff will change any child who has had an accident and will encourage each child to “use the potty” as often as needed.

Diapered children will be checked every hour and changed as necessary.  Diapers may be provided for $.50 each if the child should run out during their stay at Kidz Depot.

 

LICENSING

Due to the nature of our business, Kidz Depot does not qualify as a “daycare” facility under Indiana Law and therefore cannot be licensed by the State of Indiana.   Our facility operates within the parameters of one of the exemptions allowed by Indiana Code (IC) 12-17.2-2.8 under Sec. 28.4(a) "Child care center", for purposes of IC 12-17-2, means a non-Residential building where at least one (1) child receives child care from a Provider (3) for more than four (4) hours but less than twenty-four (24) hours in each of ten (10) consecutive days per year, excluding intervening Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Kidz Depot must be closed every 10th consecutive day under Indiana Code (IC) 12-7-2-28.4.  Our facility is designed to provide high-quality, safe, and fun childcare when you need it!  We strive to meet any applicable regulations that are designated for licensed daycares by the Indiana Department of Health and Human Services. 

We maintain a caregiver ratio of 4:1 for children ages 6 weeks - 12 months, 5:1 for children 12-24 months, and a ratio of 10:1 for children ages 24 months – 12 years.  Our staff is scheduled to exceed these minimum requirements so every child is given more personal attention.  In the event that more caregivers are needed, Kidz Depot has staff on-call.
